The Ray Lowry Foundation

Ray Lowry was an English cartoonist, illustrator, and satirist known for his distinctive style and humour.

Ray contributed to several publications, including The Guardian, Private Eye, Punch, Tatler, and NME, among many others.

In 1979, Ray joined The Clash on their tour of the United States and became known as their resident war artist. From this experience, he created the artwork for the sleeve of their album ‘London Calling’, using a photograph by Pennie Smith along with a series of art pieces documenting the tour.

What we did.

Ray Lowry Exhibition, Salford Museum and Art Gallery.

Masch was assigned to create a series of posters to promote the Ray Lowry exhibition. We developed the Ray Lowry brand based on his unique signature and then went on to create an identity that supports the work he produced during the Clash tour.
